Once again the Bulls score first as John Rey (B.Fehd) takes advantage of the power play 8:44 into the first period. Shots on goal seemed to fizzle after that and the Rivermen outshoot the Bulls 12-6.
Both team go scoreless until 5:03 to go in the second period when Peoria tied it up at 1-1. Peoria then took the lead on a power play goal at 1:18 and the period wraps with Peoria up 2-1. Once again the Bulls are outshot 9-4.
The third was lots of back and forth and then Charlie Millin was called for spearing with 13:00 left and was handed a 5 minute major and ejected with a game misconduct. A cold Mavric Parks settled in and managed to keep the puck out until he was pulled with 00:59 to go in exchange for an extra attacker. Peoria found the empty net just 11 seconds later to lock the win and send the Bulls packing with an 0-3 record to start the season. Shots on goal for the night are nearly 2:1 for the Rivermen with Birmingham managing just 16 to Peoria’s 30.
