2nd round vs Peoria, Jacob Barber scores just 2:28 into the game to put the Bulls up 1-0. Josh Harris assists. Andy Bathgate adds a goal with 11:41 on the clock with an assist from Evan Schultz. Peoria gets back to within a goal just 15 seconds later and the Bulls lead 2-1 at break with Peoria leading on shots 12-9.

Peoria starts 2nd period scoring to tie the game 2-2 and ends the period with the go ahead with 27 seconds on the clock. 3-2 Rivermen and they’ll outshoot the Bulls 20-11 for the period.

3rd period scoring starts with Evan Schultz and it’s a beauty. Justin Larson and Taylor Dickin assisting (16:51). Peoria takes it back though about 2 minutes later and the Rivermen go up by 2 with 8:50 on the clock. Then the fights started. After two wild melees, several minutes of delay and a few players sent to the showers, the Bulls get back to a 4-3 power play. Jacob Barber makes it count firing one in with 6:35 remaining. Taylor Dickin and Josh Harris assist. Evan Schultz adds his 2nd goal of the night to tie the game back up at 5-5. Josh Harris and John Rey each with assists (4:38)… and we’re headed to overtime.

An extra 5 minute, 3 on 3 period still doesn’t end this one and it’ll be settled by a shoot out.

Jacob Barber and Taylor Dickin score in the shoot out. Charlie Millen shuts down 4 shooters and that’ll be all it takes. Barber is credited with the game winning goal which gives him a hat trick. Evan Schultz had 2 goals and Andy Bathgate gets one in this thriller. Charlie Millen gets the win stopping 43 of 48 shots.

The Bulls manage a weekend sweep a get a big 6 point boost in the standings. 3 up, 3 down and Birmingham retains the unofficial “Title Belt” tracked by The Sin Bin website after taking it in last night’s win.
