The Bulls finally made it home tonight and were met by 3,898 fans, many of whom have been waiting a long 17 years for their return. The first 2 periods delivered what many have been craving. Smash mouth, hard nosed, and at times bare knuckled hockey. Finally, 4:07 into the 3rd period, Nate Mitton lit the light and the crowd with his first goal as a Bull. Steven Phee makes the assist.
While Mavric Parks seemed unbeatable, the Ice Bears finally found a way to even it up at 1-1 with 8:45 to go. Then just when it seemed we would be treated to overtime hockey, Knoxville put it away with a mere 56 seconds left on the clock. At the final horn, the disappointed crowd still rose to their feet and gave the boys an ovation that told them, “we’re so glad you’re back”. Welcome home Bulls, we’ve missed you. The Bulls face their in state rival, Huntsville Havoc, next Friday at 7:30 here at Pelham Civic Complex.
Note: The Bulls staff would like to apologize to the fans displaced by incomplete construction. While attempts where made to exchange seats for those fans, we regret that we were unable to fully rectify the situation.
