Bulls “Stand Up For Ben” Jersey Auction Benefit
The Birmingham Bulls of the Southern Professional Hockey League would like to announce that all proceeds from Sharknado Night’s Jersey Auction will be donated to “Stand Up For Ben”. The Bulls will host Sharknado Night on Friday, Dec. 15th. The Players will be wearing special jerseys that night that will be auctioned off after the game. #standupforben was started here in Hoover, AL to help raise money and awareness for the Ben Abercrombie Fund, its sole purpose is to help pay for family medical and living needs.
“The Birmingham Bulls Organization would like the Abercrombie Family to know that we are standing with them” said Bulls General Partner Art Clarkson, “and we look forward to assisting in his road to recovery.”
Ben Abercrombie grew up in Hoover, Alabama where he played football and baseball for Hoover High School. Ben was recruited to play football at Harvard University and worked very hard academically to earn admission and an academic scholarship to Harvard. Ben is very proud to be a member of the Harvard Crimson Football Team and worked his way into the playing rotation at Safety as a freshman. Ben was playing in his first collegiate football game on Saturday, September 16, 2017, Harvard vs. Rhode Island. He was making a tackle on the sideline when he fell to the ground and did not get up. Ben sustained a very serious neck injury. He is a very strong young man and we have no doubt that he will make a strong recovery.
“We are thankful for the Birmingham Bulls’ support of the Abercrombie family as Ben continues through a long recovery process.” said Hoover Mayor Frank V. Brocato.
The Bulls game against Mississippi on December 15th will be special as the team wears themed jerseys that will be auctioned off immediately following the game. Don’t miss your opportunity to purchase a limited edition jersey, while supporting the Abercrombie family. Join in Standing Up for Ben.
“Being a good neighbor does not stop at the city limits, the City of Pelham is happy to assist in this effort.” added Pelham Mayor Gary Waters.
In addition, the Bulls will have two jerseys available to be bid on by Corporations online. If your company is interested in bidding on a jersey send your bid or donation along with contact information (Company name, contact, phone# and e-mail) to [email protected].
The dead line for this will be December 15, 2017 at 4:00 PM.
