CRAIG SIMCHUK
Craig Simchuk captained the Bulls during the 2017-18 and 2018-19 seasons. Following his retirement as a player. A lefty-shooting forward, Simchuk played a combined five professional seasons in the SPHL. He tallied 46 goals and 75 assists in 238 career games with the Columbus Cottonmouths and the Birmingham Bulls.
He served as an assistant coach under Jamey Hicks with the Bulls organization before being named head coach for the 2022-21 season.
During his third season in Birmingham as head coach, Simchuk was selected at the SPHL Coach of the Year for the 2022-23 season while leading the Bulls to their second President's Cup Finals appearance since 2019.
Simchuk led Birmingham to the William B. Coffey Trophy as regular season champions in 2023-24 with a franchise-record 38-9-9 record, while their 85 points are third-most in league history. For the second season in a row, Simchuk was sleeted SPHL Coach of the Year.
After his fourth season behind the Bulls’ bench, Simchuk joins Jean-Guy Trudel and Kevin Kerr as the only coaches in SPHL history to win the award multiple times.
